SelectOFALLON Business Spotlight: Residence Inn by Marriott

Lee Ann HowlettThe Residence Inn by Marriott opened its O’Fallon location in 2006 as one of the city’s only extended stay hotels with immediate access to Highway K and Interstate 64/U.S. Highway 40.  For the hotel’s Director of Sales and Marketing Lee Ann Howlett, SelectOFALLON has been instrumental to its marketing efforts since its doors opened. The team has provided valuable support, including short videos and photos that showcase the hotel’s accommodations and amenities to potential guests.

“Having a series of promotional videos and photos was a great tool for prospective visitors to get a feel for what a short-term stay is like at the Residence Inn,” says Lee Ann.

While the Residence Inn serves a wide customer base that includes travelers from every corner of the Midwest, some guests staying at the O’Fallon location are out-of-town workers who are heavily involved in construction projects across the city. For other customers, the hotel is a convenient, short-term home option while they are in the process of relocating. The pet-friendly hotel is just a short walk or drive from several major employers, including Allianz, Citi, General Motors, Mastercard International, Verizon, APC/Schneider Electric and Cenlar.

“O’Fallon is a thriving community focused on growing, supporting and enriching their businesses,” says Lee Ann. “Just in the past six years, we’ve seen so many businesses expand here in O’Fallon, and we are able to house those construction workers while they build. We are so excited for this city to continue to grow!”

Lee Ann notes that the Residence Inn is not just a hotel, but a community that she has been privileged to serve because they contribute directly to the growth of the city. She has been in the hotel business for 22 years and has never experienced a city economic development team as helpful, passionate and caring as SelectOFALLON. “They are the vital link to the community and its many business resources,” she says.

An O’Fallon resident, Lee Ann also applauds the city’s convenient location as well as its many educational opportunities. O’Fallon is home to three award-winning public-school districts and four private/parochial schools for children in preschool through grade 12. The Fort Zumwalt School District has provided Lee Ann’s daughters with the resources to succeed.

So, what does Lee Ann think about the future of O’Fallon? She is looking forward to the city’s growth, which will allow the Residence Inn to continue to provide workers and families the convenience of location to attend business meetings, family events and experience all the city has to offer.
